Will Akerman created and developed MyKindaFuture as a mission-led business to raise aspirations amongst 11-25 year olds and help them develop critical employability skills and connect them with work experience and employment opportunities. Will has marshalled an eclectic range of stakeholder supporters throughout the lifespan of MyKindaFuture to help engender positive change for young people’s career prospects. He works closely with many multi-national businesses, SMEs, Government, teachers and lecturers with the vision of ensuring every young person, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to succeed in life and at work. In 2016, Will was recognised for his work in supporting and nurturing the next generation of young entrepreneurs through inclusion on the Maserati 100 List. Will is also a member of the City & Guilds Council and in his spare time provides dedicated mentoring, advice and support to young entrepreneurs.
With the launch of the Apprenticeship Levy, the need for employers to attract, recruit and retain young people into apprenticeships has never been more critical.
