Pete Atherton has taught English, media and film studies in Secondary and F.E for 20 years. Now a teacher educator and author at Liverpool John Moores and Edge Hill Universities, his current research interests are educational technology. As a development form this, how social media can disseminate academic research will be the subject of his P.H.D thesis.
His recent ebook was entitled, ‘Kahoot! for Assessment’. The main theme of the book was how educational technologies can be used for effective formative assessment. His book for Sage Publications – ’50 Ways to Use Technology in a Classroom’ continues that theme but with a variety of educational tools and platforms. The book will be published in January 2018 and will be accompanied by a series of events.

I am currently writing ’50 Ways to Use Technology in the Classroom’ for Sage Publications. This session would be timely in light of the recent Carter review and the renewed Ofsted emphasis on assessment. It could also provide some timely CPD for staff to improve their assessment.
