In 2015/2016 academic year, there were over 16,000 starts on Digital Industries’ Apprenticeships – a 5% increase from the previous year. With three in four UK businesses reporting digital skills shortage amongst their employees, the Apprenticeship Levy and associated reforms will increase the demand for Digital Apprentices, but we need more providers to deliver in this space. This session will discuss the current landscape of Digital Apprenticeship Frameworks and Standards, identifying the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that employers need and how to build innovative Apprenticeship Programmes that will enable us to tackle the digital skills gap.
