askit in Further Education

Skills 4

Supported by the Helen Hamlyn Trust, Open Futures’ askit is a powerful teaching practice that develops students’ critical, creative, caring and collaborative thinking skills and which can have significant impact in any subject area, whether vocational or academic and including English & maths. Open Futures trains teachers to enable classes to develop into true communities of enquiry and individuals to become better prepared for the difficult world they enter when leaving college. This has been incredibly successful in a groundbreaking project at Central Beds College in Dunstable and now six other colleges have expressed serious interest in adopting askit.
